What We Believe

images-heart-shape

God is weaving a tapestry of ordinary people that represent many nations and spanning generations. Our passion is to see lives, communities and nations transformed by God’s amazing love. Our culture is Jesus-centred and we seek to share the good news about Jesus, equipping people in their faith.

We are a family church, where we treasure our unique personalities and appreciate each other’s different backgrounds and giftings. Serving one another and our community, we aim to train leaders and encourage one another in our spiritual development.

Church Rules

As a church…

The Trinity

We believe in the one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

God in Creation

We believe in the love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

The Bible

We believe in the divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

Human Nature

We believe in the dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine judgement.

The Reality of Evil

We acknowledge the reality of Satan and his evil activity in the world.

The Incarnation

We believe in the incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ – born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

Salvation

We believe in the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.

The Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; His ascension to the Father, and His reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.

Justification

We believe in the justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth and enables our witness, equipping the church for service. We believe in the need for every believer to seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit for empowerment in discipleship, evangelism, and service.

The Church

We believe in the Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers — given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

Sacraments

We believe in the baptism of believers in water and the regular commemoration by believers of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ by celebrating the Lord’s Supper until He comes again.

Prayer

We believe in the power and effectiveness of prayer offered in faith to God.

The Future

We believe in the personal and visible return in glory of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
