Hope Football

Hope Football

'I have loved you with an everlasting love' Jeremiah 31:3

Hope Football runs every Tuesday during school term time, from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, at Malvern St James Girls’ School on the astroturf pitch. The session is open to Year 9 and Year 10 boys and girls, and costs just £2 per person to help cover pitch hire.

Each week, we combine football and fun with a message of hope:

  • 25 minutes of football coaching to build skills and confidence
  • A short 5-minute message to inspire and encourage
  • 30 minutes of match play to put it all into practice

The goal of Hope Football is simple: to create a safe and welcoming space where young people can enjoy football, make friends, and discover hope for life.

The sessions are led by Roy, pastor at MEC, together with Ethan, Josh, and Luke from Regent’s Theological College. All leaders are DBS-checked, and sessions follow MEC’s safeguarding policy.

Beyond the pitch, Roy also serves as a mentor at Dyson Perrins Academy, offering free support to teenagers across Malvern. His own story is one of transformation—once without hope, Roy’s life was turned around by faith in Jesus. Now, he is passionate about sharing that same hope with others.
